The left can keep coming up with any excuse they want for Islam and what it has become in the modern world, it wont stop the radicals from raping, killing and gaining ground around the world while the "moderates" write internet articles.

It's incredible just how well the partisans have succeeded in creating the "us" vs. "them" mentality that blocks so much critical thought and insight into most of the world's issues.

No comment on the article or the subject matter.....just a demonization of "them" and a subsequent dismissal of any point that might contradict one's world viewpoint.

    Sad.....

Just wish more Muslims would cry out against the jihadists. Sure, you hear a few every now and then, but the overall quiet from them is deafening. Until there is a loud and overt outrage against these people by the majority of Muslims, the rest of us will continue to regard all with distrust.

When people do awful things and attempt to hide behind Christianity, we scream loudly that they do not in any way represent us or Christ. Muslims must learn to do the same.

An retired CIA Director described these animals as just that ... animals. He said that they are "serial psychopath murderers" who have found a 'legitimate' outlet, and acceptable from the point of view of their inner society, for their activities. So, how is any organized government or rational people going to "negotiate" with a group of these? There's no rehab. There's no jail time. There's no re-socialization. Just wipe them out! End of story.

Works like a charm. Has worked forever. The owners of this country have successfully deployed red herrings since the very beginning.

"It's not us screwing you, it's the "yankee/rebel".
"It's not us screwing you, it's the "irish/italian/jew"
"It's not us screwing you, it's the "black/mexican"
"It's not us screwing you, it's the "lefties/righties"

"Take your eye off the ball working man. Kick your feet up. Watch some sports. Worry about who your team drafts, not who gets elected.

We'll take care of who "your" elected representatives are.

We'll make sure they protect you from whatever bogey man we've told you to watch out for. You just keep paying your taxes"

Do you think MI5's behavioral science unit is wrong? What about forensic psychiatrist and former CIA officer Marc Sageman; the political scientist Robert Pape; the international relations scholar Rik Coolsaet; the Islamism expert Olivier Roy; the anthropologist Scott Atran? (referenced in the article)

Are they all part of the "left"? Are they all muslim apologists? Does the article allude to their political viewpoints in any way?

To be honest, I've never heard of any of them prior to this article. Have you? Has sstrykker? So what basis do you or he have to dismiss their opinion, other than the fact that it conflicts with your/his opinion? Do facts matter at all on this?

No, but the issue is one that only the Muslims themselves have the ability to rectify. I do believe the press would love nothing better than to give them a platform to loudly condemn the jihadists, yet we hear nothing but a token every now and then. Most of the voices telling us they don't represent Islam are not even Muslims.

Until there is a LOUD and united voice from every mosque, most of us will continue to believe each could be harboring a terrorist cell.
