How many folks here own and run JJ Lares early Aluminum A Series calls.
I remember spending some time many, many years ago at Joe's booth at a sportsmen show. I was very respectful of Joe's time and struck up a conversation. I blew Joes calls he had on display and he gave me feedback on running them. I said I wanted to buy a call and asked him what was the very best call for me to buy. Joe reached under the table and pulled out an Aluminum A2 call that was not on display for sale and said buy this. It was very good advice. I still have that one and an A4. Those calls can flat out run loud and throttle down and are pure duck in my opinion. Another example of Joe's fine machining skills.
I just blew my A4 and will make a point of some lanyard time next year. Collectors items for sure and go for some serious dollars when put up for sale. I plan to add an A3 to my collection.

I love the look of the aluminum calls. Seems like most people buy them up as a collector piece and it never gets used. The brass t1s look great as well.

I now own 3 and plan to hang on to them. I foolishly let my first one go many years ago. You can get real loud on one depending on the reed. I am going to set one up for windy days next year..

It would be cool if Brett ever decided to make them again.

Brett may not have the metal shavings in his blood like Joe.
Still hoping to get over an visit with Brett, taking all my Lares calls to play with inserts after hearing all the good things about his latest calls.
