So throughout the last month of the BOS hunts and the Spring hunts that just occurred, saw and heard many people doing this. Now don't get me wrong, I myself have done my fair share when I was very young and was running around at the age of 16 killing everything I could.

Now, age 43 - you would not catch me thinking or actually doing it. Mabey that fine line from being a teenager to growing up or the *** kicking I got when my old man found out what I did?

What are your thoughts? Ethical or just plain stupid.

I saw my share of it this year. Definitely makes it tough if you have a lease or guide. Most of these jumps involve trespassing, it will probably never stop and could get worse with the higher goose limits

The two things that concern me the most are safety and trespassing. If those two things are addressed properly then I don't have much issue with it.

Some will complain about cripple rate of birds on the ground, but plenty of birds are injured during inflight volley's also.

If they are not trespassing the ground pounders can actually help break up the big grinds , which unless they are on your ground can be a good thing.:yes

Jump shooting a pile of Geese does nothing for me. I did Jump Shoot when I was younger as well but would rather shoot 1 goose over decoys than 20 on the ground. The Trespassing thing is the concern and this will ultimately shut down even more land.

I still jump shoot in Nebraska. Try it sometime with a cow decoy.....it takes some skill and it is fun.

being in Cali I use an illegal immigrant Farm
laborer decoy. works like a charm on the geese
and as a bonus Leo doesn't give
    a second look.

    not my style

I'm never in favor of educating that many geese be it pass shooting, grind jumping or road shooting.

I'd always rather shoot a couple geese that finished into the decoys than pass shoot a limit out of flocks passing at 50 yards

Grind jumpers are unethical pigs who lack the skills to call or decoy birds into shooting range.
