I told the wife I was just going but one or two more times, probably for snow geese, once duck season ended. I went a few more times than that, or, "just one last time".
Its never enough, but I'm satisfied.

"Skycarp" and his buddy Ted ( I think it was Ted ) had me out once.
While we didnt "tear em up", it was a fun trip. Thanks Matt.

I'm no snow goose expert, but I look forward to going after em after January.
I hadnt gotten a chance to go with our very own "GreenHead IL" until now, and we had a good time.
We ended the day with 19, and should've had a few more, but they were in our face. No ground pounding/head raking. These boys put me to work (albeit it couldve been worse). I thought as the guest, my job would be to supervise and hold the flashlight but that wasnt the case.

GreenheadIL would not answer my requests to bring something to contribute to the hunt so I texted his older brother with "What kind of beer do you guys drink?".
He said Natural Light or Busch. After the hunt, I myself had a 65 degree Nasty Light, I mean "Natural" Light (gross) and had my first beer of the year.

I normally wouldnt post such a pic (somewhat disrespectful maybe ?) but this brand new sock, first time in use I was told, got broken in when a goose above it met its maker

Some other plans got cancelled, so I loaded up the boat and went to a nearby lake and hoped for the best.
When I got up, I opened the garage door to have a smoke and couldnt see 10 feet due to the fog.
If it wasnt for the fact that the coffee pot was already going, I shouldve went back to bed as the sun didnt appear til 11am.
Other than many spoonies, ringnecks, woodies, cans, redheads, Canada geese, mallards, pintails and ruddies, I saw nothing.

Ducks beyond the decoys but I dont think they show up in the pic

You may notice the yellow collared snow ( painted it just for kicks ).
The numbers on the collar are 12-10-16.
Whats the relevance of "12-10-16" ?....its the birth date of the newest member of the MudDuk house hold...

I got another invite to a place and when I left, we had taken 8.
If not due to family obligations, I couldve stayed. When they texted me after sunset, the pit had taken a total of 30 ( 22 damn more AFTER I left).

    Some of 2,000+ decoys

And the last hunt of the year.
I ain't much on "put and take" birds, but watching a couple dogs work was fun and spent the day with two nice guys.
