cattails, did you just write "cattails" at the BOTTOMS???? I thought you and the new manager have been working around the clock to get rid of them. If they were gone, they would not of set up there.

This morning, we are set up and it's getting closer to LST, but fairly dark yet.
A volley of shots rings out from a mile away.
The clock says it's 19 minutes until shoot time.
    Nineteen.
    Minutes.
    Inexcusable.

If they were gone, no one would have set up there.
It would have been one huge open pool of water.
    Just like in 2007.

Because no one is going to do anything about it so the dirtbags will never stop doing it.

I was hunting on private property near a large goose roost a few years ago. Someone began shooting probably 20 minutes before legal on the roost. Birds were flying everywhere and I called in on the Kansas 1800 poaching line. While I was talking they started shooting again (still before legal) and the person could hear it on the other end of the phone... I gave them directions to the spot the best I could over the phone. I don't know if the game warden ever paid them a visit but it hasn't happened again.

Early shooting is sooo widespread, I personally can't see well enough to know what species I'm shooting at until at least LST, and past LST on overcast days. My blind partner and I each pick a time every day when we think the first early shot will go off.
