Are you staying on Soldotna? Homer is a fun day, should be pretty low key in September, as well as Seward. Hit the Sea Life Center in Seward and hit the Salty Dog in Homer.
Are you here for work or fishing?

Sounds like you have a pretty solid plan. If you want to fish at all while on the Kenai let me know and I can get you in touch with some top notch guides.
You must be hunting with Tim out of Valdez, you will have a great time!

You will be too busy driving in a huge circle to stop and do anything fun.

The places down that way are more about doing stuff and not so much about seeing stuff.

Don't miss the tunnel opening to get into Whittier.

Rather than Slow Dot Na how about a night in Cooper Landing at the Kenai Princess or one of the smaller B&B cabin/rafting set ups. C&R silvers and rainbows on the upper river from a raft would be a good casting day.

Are you taking the fast ferry Chenega or Aurora. I'll more than likely be on the Chenega and know Tim pretty well. If I'm not working (schedule yet to be published) come straight down to Homer and catch a few halibut or shoot some Specklebellies with me. Like Ray said, it's not about seeing, it's about doing.

Had to jump in on this...I don't think I'll ever drive from Anchorage to Homer again without taking the 16 mile trip to stop in Hope for a beer and a burger...then walk across the street and catch humpies.

There, now back to the Wisconsin Forum...
