Got in the stand about 430 and had a good north wind for the stand my buddy and I hung a few weeks ago. I was hunting a soy bean field that has been holding some good NC deer the past couple months. Had three bucks come out into the field around 7pm. 2 big 7 pointers and a 10 pointer were at 40 yards but I couldnt get a shot due to the cover I had left up to conceal me. After being tortured for about 20 minutes the 3 bucks started to mill around back away from me and I thought I was going to go home empty handed. By this point 3 does had came out into the beans and were feeding about 50 yards in front of me. Next thing I see is horns walking the field edge right in front of the stand and he stops into one of my shooting holes at 13 yards. I recognized him as being the bigger of the 2 seven pointers and drew back, settled my pin, and let it eat. Gave him 30 minutes and after a 100 yard track job this is what I found. He's not the my biggest deer I've killed but he's the best deer I've killed with my bow. He isnt all that wide but he's definitely tall. I'll try and put a tape on him in the next couple of days since I'm at the firehouse today.

He's a nice one!:tu I had a decent 8 below my stand this afternoon but gave him a pass since it's only one week into the season.
