Family stuff, church stuff, and reports that there were few birds out on the flats have kept me going to my little lake spot or not hunting. But the tide and the weather and finally a regular week have me headed out this morning. I will get there after sun up and head out to my spot and see if there is anything still out there.

My experience is that after December I shoot a lot less birds out on the flats. Who knows? Maybe I will get some reverse migrations birds coming back up north with the nice weather. lol. Torrie has 55 retrieves for the year and I would love to get her 7 more and close her out over 60. I don't take her to the lake due to the eagles.

If you see the NTO truck be sure and say Hi.

It's been an odd year and there are still birds on the salt. They are smart as they get though. Good luck!

With the cold night (24 here), it might keep some birds off the small waters into the salt. Good luck .....
