I haven't started my mower for a couple years, did not add fuel stabilizer. Any suggestions before I wear my arm out trying to start it?
(I have been doing my part to conserve water)

    Thanks

carb and lines are probably gunked out. Clean and replace em and a new plug and it should fire right up. Id recommend using one of those cans of pre-stabilized fuel at the hardware store if you are gonna run it infrequently like that. They contain zero ethanol and that stuff can sit a long time and not gum up or eat the rubber up.

Empty the gas out, put fresh in and try and start it. If it starts right up you are in business. Startron is the fuel stabilizer that has worked well for me in all kinds of motors

All good responses. Be careful with the ether on a gas motor.

    New fuel and some seafoam.

We “run” premium in this house.

Are you mowing in the rain?

Clean the carb, then run fresh gas with Seafoam.

Start her up, drink a beer, then get to mowing.

If it runs with either then dies , drop the bowl on the carb, there should be a brass nut with a slot for a screwdriver.
Take that out and run a small piece of wire through the orifice in the center of that brass nut. Check youtube for videos on the type of mower you have.:tu

Guys I ran seafoam for years but I think startron is better.
Of coarse any additive is better than none with today's junk gas.

Callinfowl is on the right track, but its a bolt, not a nut...fine wire, like 1 strand of copper electric wire will get er done. Dont enlage the hole, just gently ream the gunk out of it. You'll be surprised how easy it starts after that.

Oh yeah, you may not have to drop the bowl, just that bolt cleaned out should work.

If not, well, you intended to clean the carb anyway, right?
