Looks to be a tough hide this year, need some input. Field is beans, once harvested a levy will be put in where pit is. Flood in front of pit. Typical 4 man pit with drop down doors. How am I going to hide with new dirt levee?

Gonna be tough to hide but Id say get you some wheat and plant the levee.

Yea that was my plan, owner of the field said the farmer probably wouldn't like it.

We put in a new pit just right before season and used hay to cover the dirt. This one was in the field so just put a bunch of grass and cane up to make it look like a brush pile. Our other field will have a new pit this year and will do the same on the levee. We then go on the levee about 75 yards on both sides of the pit and put in cane in the ground as a fake. Most of the time our levee is already bare or close to it and just deal with the mud except around the pit. We decided that grass hay was closer to mud and rice stubble and doesn't take as long to turn brown.

Wasn't suggesting you could buy from him, only that it's what we use.

Rice straw is perfect if you can find enough. If not, Bermuda works well too. Bring twice what you think you'll need, and pile it deep on the levee all around the pit. Then make a rule for everyone to enter and exit the exact same way.
