IMG_3953.JPG even when certain people decide to mow to the ground your field of smartweed two months before the season, life finds a way back. Going to throw a little water on this week in hopes of it popping. Season will be here before we know it. Bring it

"Your"signifies it's owned by you so why is someone cutting the place that you hunt "your" field? From you profile picture you'll be just fine at any rate

Leased field. God I wished I owned it. Wild happens once in a blue moon for us. When it does happen it's lots of fun

Anyone have experience with irrigating this late in terms of weed growth? Just trying to get enough water over the field to saturate it

Our club manager flooded up some fields that were to wet to plant over the last month. Still have 6 weeks or so of growing weather, only issue is how tall will it get. Can't hurt unless you have to pay the pump or water bill if it doesn't do anything.

I would only flood it a couple inches deep and then let it evaporate. That should be enough moisture to promote growth, too deep a flood will drown the plant and not give it enough time to resprout before you have to flood for the season. Good luck!

    I'm going with barnyard grass.

Unless the water is free, I think it is too late to accomplish much with natural "weed" growth. Now, if you go broadcast some Jap millet and wait until November to deep flood...
