Lily of the Swamp

    I was in a S. Ga swamp hunting hogs and fighting skeeters and spiders, when I came across this. Amazing to see something like this growing in the mud.

    Very cool plant and nicely captured. Always good to see new things from around the different parts of the country.

    Spider Lilies. There's several different species and all are pleasantly fragrant.

    There's a blackwater creek near where I grew up where I'd pick a few for mom. They'd smell up the house for days.

    I have one plant on my property but it blooms sporadically, not every year.

    I must be hit it just right. There were a lot of them.
