Our season opened on Monday. Sunday night I had my youngest daughter with me, and she helped me put a bird to bed. I knew exactly which branch he was roosted on. The next morning I snuck in well before first light and put a jake and a hen decoy in the exact spot where he flew up from. About 5 minutes after LST he flew down and started trying to whoop my DSD jake. I didn't give him much time. Here's a couple of pics. He was 28lbs with what was left of a 10 inch beard and 1.5 inch hooks.
