I have noticed one area is loaded w cocklebur

    So I'm gonna address it

What height is best to spray jap millet

Our seed bed is soo strong w smartweed this isn't usually a problem

    But this area needs addressed

What height is jap millet tall enough to handle some broad leaf herbicide

    Kevin,

I have sprayed 2,4D, Aim, and Bentazon over the top of Jap millet when it was recently emerged and less than 3 inches tall. I typically use crop oil concentrate and that can cause a little burn on the millet, but it has always come out of it just fine. I sprayed 2,4D over the top of some two weeks ago that was literally just emerging (had to take advantage of a rare dry spell!) and it seems to be doing okay. With that said, I would prefer to have it about six inches tall before spraying, but I pay more attention to the size of the weeds.

I agree with @hhpage get it while the gettin' is good! Especially this year. Never know when we're gonna get another turd floater and you want to hit those cocklebur when they're young.

This is what a mixed stand of rice and millet looked like about 5 days after spraying Aim @3.2 oz/ac. The green areas are skips for reference. Scared the crap out of me, but it came back strong. Looks great now and broadleaf weeds are gone.
