Do the ring thing (ie the burger is thicker around the edge and thinner in the middle). Stuff them with cheese (the easier that it melts, the better). Throw exotic mushrooms on top: porcini, hedgehogs, chanterelles or morels (the last 3 need to be cooked, not raw).

Serve them on crusty french bread rolls.

Mix it with brown sugar. The sugar gives it a nice, sweet crust. Good stuff.

I like to add a touch of Worcestershire and Onion powder to the mix.

The real fun thing I do from time to time..instead of a regular bun use two whole grilled cheese sandwiches as a bun and put the burger in between :)

Can't go wrong with mixing in some Montreal Steak seasoning with them.

Another oldie but goodie is French Onion soup mix

Plus one on the Montreal Stk seasoning. Also, been using a lot of Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning lately. Good stuff, too.
