.....and of course my first concern is best place for hunting opportunities.

I've lived in So IL all my life, and have grown pretty fond of the little white goose that likes to pass through here. SEMO is also an hour drive away, and it gets plum full of snows. Other than that, IL is a dying state and we want out.

I've hunted ducks and honkers in the Manhattan area before with a friend's uncle that owned land in the area. However, I'm more focused on an area that gets concentrations of snows. I know a lot of guys enjoy hunting lessers, and from watching videos of them, they act very similar to snow geese. So an area that gets a lot of lesser traffic would not be out of the question either.

I'm a land surveyor, and fiance is an accountant, so i feel positive about being able to find positions for both of us in many different regions.

    Appreciate the input guys !

To find work you’ll probably need to be near a city of at least 15k and I’d be surprised if it doesn’t take some time to find accounting work outside of the major cities. I don’t know much about goose hunting but there are certainly snow geese around. Be aware that KS doesn’t have a lot of public land. I live in the Kansas City area and there is a fair amount of public waterfowling opportunity within 2 hours in KS and MO but it can get crowded especially on weekends.

I think the survey job will be harder to find than the accounting job. Every little town 10k or higher probably has demand for 10 or 15 people with that skill set.

Great hunting within an hour of Wichita for everything except sky carp.
Decent quail and monster whitetails 1 hour east.
1 hour west decent upland/monster whitetail/great duck hunting/decent Canada goose hunting.
Light traffic.. 110 in August and -4 in January... gotta be hardy

Look at Hutchinson. Should fulfill most if not all of your requirements.

People who consider snows "sky carp" just don't get it.

And anyway, what's wrong with Carp?? They fight hard when hooked and don't eat too bad if deep fried or smoked.

Good idea, not too far from Cheyenne Bottoms and Quivira where all kinds of waterfowl including snows stop, and if necessary also not too far to commute to a job based in Wichita.
