When lop is measured on a shotgun it is measured from a cocked gun to middle of the end of the butt stock or recoil pad. Is this the correct measurement?

LOP is the distance from the front center of the trigger curvature to the vertical center of the recoil pad or butt ( between 14 and 15 inches on most stocks ).

And if I might say , a lot of Waterfowl Guns are 1/2" to long by using the true LOP measurement as ,in the winter heavier clothes does
make a summertime LOP to long ! A wise shotgunner will have (2) recoil pads to allow for this ! :tu
