    It really shouldn't because you should taste my red beans and rice, which I have also taken out onto the fringes of acceptable.
    Red beans and rice is a hell of a lot like chili the further you go east from Texas where it can have rattlesnake buttons and armadillo crap in it but god forbid those damn beans.
    My red beans and rice made with smoked hocks, kielbasa sausage and choopped duck breast and duck stock may not qualify in cajun country you bet sure they will eat it.
    I made my last chili with duck and deer no beans and it was dang sure pretty straight up.

    I like chili with not just beans, but corn, as well... :nutz I know... I know... blasphemy in most parts.

    As for the red beans and rice, that is one of my favorites. I'm not even picky. I even like the Zataran's kind (doodied-up, of course). RB&R is a once a week meal at my house.

    I love R & R too and used to cook it a LOT.
    Know whut you doin you can eat good all week for $6.37 hahahaha

    OH! yer usin that clumpy rice! yuck! (bean looks great though)

    I like sticky rice. I give it a hard stir just to have it sluff off the starch.

    Had a cajun buddy make some red bean gumbo a couple of years ago. it was a good twist for left overs. certainly won't find that sort of food up here north of the flavor line.
