Look for brand names to checkout. Grinders with metal gears. Lem's is one but are there any others anybody can share? Looking for one in that $200.00 or so range. Thanks

Lem's are definitely worth it. Mine makes short work of everything I throw at it.

I'll second the LEM. I and 3 friends have them. One of those friends owns a restaurant and grinds fresh about 25 pounds daily. He used my 1/4 hp model for 6 months, then stepped up to a 1/3 hp for himself (the only reason he gave up on the 1/4 hp was because I moved and needed it back).

I went from a manual grinder to two cheap Chinese made $99 grinders before I splurged and bought a 1 1/2 HP Lem grinder and have never had any regrets with the Lem other than not buying a quality grinder earlier. I also invested in their remote control foot pedal, stuffing bags and their bag tape sealing system. Makes grinding a breeze and packaging up the ground or sausage.
