Hello, I've been living in wa state, since 2010 and I like my duck hunting. Been at it for a long time. Just looking for an honest answer. Is there much duck hunting around orofino or 30 min in any direction? Not sure if there's much of a flyway around orofino but I'm sort of moving to get the hell out of this liberal hell hole.liberal Ppl here are deranged & if you don't live your life like they want you to they hate you like the devil himself.

I've never seen such hate. Don't go to Bellingham, if you can help it. Psychos everywhere. Toxic as I've ever seen. I won't be bringing a boat with me. Will I be disappointed in opportunities for good duck hunting? You guys have a great river for steelhead on the Clearwater. If I can shoot 60 ducks in a season I would be happy. Thanks

Orofino is a cool little town . I go through there on my way up to the St. Joe to trout fish . From what I have seen there wouldn't be much hunting without a boat and then probably limited to the Dworshak res . If you go there make sure to get the fried chicken at the grocery store, the best I ever had !

I was on the Clearwater in October of 2009 for the huge steelhead run that year. It was pretty amazing and will probably never be seen again. Hooked multiple fish a day on speys and classic steelhead flys.

While fishing I saw gwt, bwt, goldeneye and down towards the casino good flights of mallards.

You'll need a boat but if you can't kill 60 ducks a year on that river you don't know how to hunt. You'll probably spend more time learning where the steelheaders don't go but look down river from the reservation coho hatchery to Lewiston and you should have some great hunting. I'm envious for sure.

I'll be surprised if there is any duck huhting on the reservoir it looked like a gravel pit.
