What do you guys use as a rule of thumb for moving the motor up as you add setback? I'm talking about flat bottom aluminum boats, no tunnel.

Also, do float pods allow you to move the motor up even further?

10" of setback allowed for 2" of motor height movement..... anything that raises the stern will help raise the motor setting.....there is a slight loss when you factor in the leverage the set back puts on the boat...especially with HEAVY motors......
