When mechanic took cover off my motor he found several blackened wires- did not look good! He thought voltage regulator, but stator was possible. He put a new voltage regulator on and new wires. He took it to the lake and it ran like a top!! Thanks for all the info I received, and all the PM messages. Anytime I have a problem- I CAN get help here! I will take to the lake Thursday and see what it can do! Thanks fireduck ( Kenny)

Good that you got your problem resolved. Outboard motors are the devil's spawn. When they run great all is good, when they don't, well, they make you age beyond your years.
