Mound city

    I wouldn't be waiting and trying to hunt ideal days. They are behind and are pushing north. Mound might not be "The" place as usual. It'll still build a huge number of birds at some point. How long they stay will be the question.

    We're flying out tomorrow morning, hunting Friday-Sunday...looking forward to my first coservation order hunt.

    snowing there now but you should see a ton of birds. Your guide will make all the difference. The migration is late but they will be pushing hard. They are feeding in such large groups it can be ; WOW! or Bow-Wow!

    Count on NW MO having a migration most similar to spring 2010. Conditions are extremely similar. Pass staging over a mill with another mill in the area that have been couped up for quite a while, snow & mud, lots of ice on the refuge, and late migration. Squaw "peaked" at 20K that year. If your guide only knows how to hunt the hills, you will be SOL. There are years, although the exception, where Mound is not the place to be.

    What does mound city area look like right now. Supposed o be there late in the week.

    You will be in great shape as the main migration will be in SD....or ND by that time leaving the last 1/4 of the migration. Trust me the last 1/4 is WAY more fun than the first 3/4!
