Got this one opening morning in the Cibolas. Saw him about 200 yards off a water hole road and he took off. Tracked him about mile and finally caught up to him. He was standing 50 yards behind a tree broadside and I dropped him on one shot. Not a "monster" but he is nice and symmetrical!

This year, we have seen more does and fawns than bucks. That is a good thing for the future but for this season it's been tough hunting. I just got lucky and had one I could see off the side of the road! With no moon most of this hunt, it seems like the deer have been moving around more in the day than usual. The one I got was up and eating at 2pm and that little herd was as well. The next few days looks like it'll be in the mid 80's which is warmer than it was over the weekend so I'd guess they would be moving at day break. Get up high near a water hole and see if you can't get some movement early. Bed them down and go in with a sneak. Obviously easier said than done but that would be my tactic this weekend! If nothing early, try checking different washes or fingers for fresh tracks and get on them! We have had a lot of success finding deer by following tracks! That's all I got man haha!
