Just got back from Lake Thompson. Froze solid from one end to the other. Saw a couple of flocks of ducks way out on the ice. No geese anywhere that I could see. I guess last nights bitter cold and no wind finally caught up with us.

Do you think it will open back up with the warmer weather? I suppose you need waterfowl though.

Lots of massive and I mean MASSIVE hunts going down right now so i all but guarantee your state is getting in on it and if not you guys are screwing up. 200 to 400 bird days are pretty common and i know of at lest one 600 bird day. The adults pushed south and left most of the kids back with their folks and so now the juvies outnumber the adults and it's never a good idea to let the kids drive the bus because they will crash it straight into the ground.

Pretty much sums it up. I don't think the adults left the Juvies behind, the hatch was just that good. They'll be PLENTY educated by the time they get south this year.

I am surprised they are not more educated by now. I would think alot of them would of been blasted at up in Canada.

The juvenile % had a distinct increase after most pushed out and you can pretty much guarantee that's the non breeders checking out leaving behind the family groups.
