my homemade silos

    I made some just like yours and used oak stakes in Y-boards. I also made some foam Brant then went over them with burlap and tile mastic like the guys do that make foam full bodies.It gives them added strength and flexability.

    Here are the colors I used:
    Black
    White
    Grey and I mixed some white with it for the breast.
    Otter Brown
    The paint is all flat latex interior/exterior.

    I got the Styrofoam from the local lumber yard, but you can buy it (around $12 per sheet) at any Home Depot type store. Yes, it's the hard insulation you use to insulate your basement walls with. I maybe wrong but I think the blue Styrofoam is a better product then the pink?

    looks ok but we have found that if you paint the body of the goose grey instead of brown they show up better and seem to bring in the geese better
