I have been using the same mylar supply for the past 12 years. I am starting to run out. Have been looking for more. All I seem to run across is what appears to be somehow different.

Both measure out .010, however, the old stuff that I have always used is more opaque (top in the picture).

Everything I find now, is more translucent. Im not nearly as pleased with the newer supply even though it measures out the same. I dont know what it is, could just be mind over matter.

But Im looking for suggestions and am really hoping someone can point me to a supplier of the stock Im running out of thanks.

In my opinion, it looks like there are 2 different Mylars and they are made from 2 different companies. In fact the bottom picture almost doesn't look like Mylar, it almost looks like a polypro.

Let me know if you need anymore help and good luck.

I use a little mylar myself, but it is usually in my goose calls. All mylar is made differently and run in inconsistant batches from several manufacturers.
I have been using a .010 polyester for over 28 years that out performs most of the mylar products. I've had three batch numbers purchased years apart and it is always the same in quality and performance. KIMOTO is the key word here. :reader

Hey Cold, I know this is a very old thread but I am looking for .01 polyester sheets that are white translucent not Mylar A. Do you know where I can get my hands on some. Thanks!
