Looking for some help to tag a couple Merriams this coming spring. Serious opinions on best place to find some public ground that isn't over run with people; don't want to make a 10-12 hr trek only to find someplace inundateded with a lot of other hunters. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Don't mind paying to hunt some good private ground either. Can also offer eastern turkeys here in Iowa or waterfowing on the Mississippi River in either Iowa or Illinois.

You won't have a ton of pressure if you go archery before the shotgun opener.

If you want a true merriams you need to be in the northwest part of the state, which will shorten the search some. If you are fine shooting a merriams hybrid, then there a a ton of choices.
