im not a master mechanic, but i did stay at a holiday inn express.
the shop i used to work at had done several of these trucks without a
hiccup and the very last one we did before i left we broke 3. This is after
soaking in oil and a motorvac procedure. In my personal opinion i dont
how ford has gotten away with it this long. There's been alotta heads
tore down because of this. I wonder the same thing about the ford 6.0.
Immense amount of problems of this motor and ford would do absolutely
nothing to compensate. It is this and my only reason why i will not and
will never buy or own a ford product. If i bother to spend 50k on a truck
it had better be a 50k truck.. I think and i believe many others feel the
    same way about the 6.0.

Off topic i know, but a man pulled in the shop the other day in his chevrolet pickup
that had 375k miles on the original motor and transmission... in my opinion it's pretty hard to beat a good 5.3 or 5.7 small block with the 4l60 behind it.

Old post, but impact wrench worked for me like a charm.

I was worried at first, but after the first one zipped right out, the other 7 were a piece of cake. 80k.

A month later, my phasers went up and I had to have the engine replaced.
