I'm thinking about taking my 15 year old son to Florida next season to try for Mottles, Blue Wings, and possible a Fulvous. Big dreams, I know, but I'm hoping some of you guys can steer me in the right direction.

Are these species even around at the same time down there? I've hunted all over the country, but never Florida. Any help you guys can offer sure is appreciated. Feel free to pm.

    Thanks

You should be able to get all three without much of a problem. I would look around the Fellsmere, FL area. The Stormwater Treatment Areas will have all three for sure.

If you book a guide or manage to get drawn on an STA hunt, book something as late in the season as possible. Drake BWTs will exhibit the most breeding plumage late. You can actually get one or two that have purple heads if you're hunting the last weekend or two of the season.
