Thought I would throw up a side by side of the new (redesigned for 2014) Avians against the DSDs. In hand they felt like very similar materials with the Avian being lighter.

    What are your guys' thoughts?

Purchased the DSD last year, even though I think they are extremely over priced. Glad I did. This was my son's (age 10) first long beard.

I had several great hunts with these decoys.

They both look good. I have a one year old DSD upright hen- very impressive. So far no cigar but glad of purchase (had to keep that secret from the missus)- I have a mixed bag- older Flambeau shell, inflatables, folding Delta, Primos Killer B (with authentic fan), and now the DSD. I do wish it were a tad lighter but no big deal.:tu

the avian x is deadly and far more easily dealt with as far as carrying in the field etc, as are the companion avian hens.. The new hunters specialty knock off of the avian x is apparently almost an exact copy and 2/3 the price, although l have not had one in my hands.

Held both in my hand this week. The new avians are hands down nicer than the old ones. I felt the feather detail on the avians knocked DSD out of the park. But I think DSD still nailed the heads.

They both seem to use the same materials but the Avian is still de/inflatable and light.

At half the price Ill be buying 2 Avians for the price of one DSD.

Dont accidentally shoot your avian X! My DSD has been through hell & back still works fine.

Love the look of the new Avians, but I've already got a DSD jake and hen and love them, so no need to think of getting the new Avians. Hats off to Zink for the upgrades to the new Avians. If I was in the market, I might just give them a closer look.

Both brands look great and will work great but I have seen gobblers walk right up to some butt ugly decoys and strut around until they got blasted
