Not quite yet....these are just the agreed upon proposals and not finalized.

The Sika restrictions did not pass and the whitetail buck limit went from a proposed 1 per weapon to 1 per weapon plus a floater tag. The earlier bow season will be the first friday after Labor Day.

Now there's a slightly better chance at taking that velvet buck that always changes his 2 month long pattern on Sept. 13th.

Despite it seeming to be an arduous process this year, it turned out pretty good. I must say I'm pleasantly suprised the sika rule didn't go forward, this is one of only a few times I can remember in the last 20 years DNR hasn't carried forward on a proposal in some form once it reached the comment stage.

Reading the new season info, I noticed one part of the whitetail regs I really like. Now you can take your two does in ANY season before using your bonus tag, doesn't have to be in the same season you use the bonus tag like before. Great idea, when you hunt the same farms all year it makes a lot of sense.

But okay, now that MBS got its earlier bow season start I'm going to begin asking for the last week of January for a true primitive BP season in the next go around! :dv

I'd much rather see the Oct BP season converted to a primative season (no in-lines, no scopes)

I wouldn't be upset to see MD go primitive on all BP seasons, as I believe the intent was when BP seasons were first implemented. As it is now its just an early firearms season.

Either that, or go the opposite direction and lets us use single shot shotguns as well. Modern BP rifles are rediculous now.
