And all you bayshore folks can stay out of the western maryland deer woods, goose fields and trout streams. Stay off the Upper Potomac too, too many of you can't handle real water. :doh

Instead of focusing all your efforts on smaller slices of pie why the hell doesn't anyone start off with going for the easy fruit. Go down to your county seat and demand that you get copies of the permits for all the blind sites your county bought up with YOUR tax money. Been advocating this for years and no one will listen, you would rather beotch in a chat room I guess. Last I read they were for the purpose of hunting. Remind them there is a recession on. Force them to NOT renew the licenses next year.

I just got another dozen over sized moveable head buffy decoys from a nice guy in Wisconsin. That makes about 4 dozen buffies, fill that in with a couple dozen nice bright bluebills and we should tear them up.

The buffies don't normally show up here until the last split, but some years we get a ton of them.

One year I made a pure triple on a batch coming straight into the blocks on Goose Creek.

Buffies ain't much but when that is all you got, you shoot buffies !

Boat (24 footer) stays in the water and will be ready to go in a moments notice, I'll let you know when they show :D

    Trailman,
You dont go down the courthouse and demand anything, least the courthouses around where I live. You ask, they tell you no, you ask again and a very nice Sheriff is escorting you out of the courthouse by your face.
    Im just saying....

Not a problem T-Man, I don't deer hunt, trout fish, or hunt late season geese:tu:tu

I've got better things to do!!!
( Like Bashing my Eastern Shore Brethern to the North:dv)

I don't think I'd get very far with demanding anything at the WI. Co. court house.

and BTW I'm not one to sit in Chat Rooms and beotch without going out and doing the work too (like being an ACTIVE member of MWFA).

Demand is a term Chris. You go to the courthouse and ask for copies. When you are denied you go to the city council or whoever runs the place. They all have weekly public worksessions/meetings. Show them your tax receipt and tell them it paid for public hunting sites. Ask for the permits. Get your friends and families down there. Get the paper down there, the municipality is using hunters tax dollars to suck up public land to prevent hunting. There's a recession on man! At a minimum get then to drop the thing for the following year. Think Globally act Locally dude. Political action is like makling diamonds, time and pressure. No one said it was easy, after the state organizations dropped the load on us out here it took us five or six years to get Sunday Hunting in Frederick and two years to change the archery laws. Anything is possible.

Joe the problem with requesting those licenses so that you can hunt it (reguardless that your tax money paid for them) is that the law explicitly states that the holder can use the license to prevent the land from being hunted by others and therefore what the municpalites and local jurisdictions are doing is consistant with the law.

    Maryland Natrual Resources Article
    ? 10-607. Riparian landowners
    2. (b) Purposes for which riparian shorelines may be licensed.- Riparian landowners may license their riparian shoreline:
    (2) To prevent other persons from licensing the riparian shoreline for the purpose of hunting wild waterfowl offshore.

Now when this law was drawn up and this obstructionist right was given, whomever was representing waterfowl hunters sure dropped the ball and delivered a "slow death to Maryland waterfowl hunters by a thousand cuts." Once a right such as this is given, it is extremely difficult to remove it.

With that said from a legal standpoint unfortunatley all government agencies, including the municipalities and local juridictions, have every right under operation of the law to license off their riparian land with the intent to keep hunters out and have no obligation to issue any hunting privledges to the tax paying or otherwise public to hunt it regardless of how it was paid for.

You know its been done before, politicians will give to voter pressure. And, I still maintain that public entities are separate from private landowner. I've always said that Joe Blo owns his land and can do what he wants. A municipality doesn't really, it represents its constituents. Why not take that to the legislature? Do something about it. Change the law to say specifically that a mulicipality can license the shoreline for its residents use for hunting but cannot license its shoreline to prevent hunting.

I totally agree with this TM.. DNR in Annapolis should also review the private land owners shorelines that have been licensed for the past few years.. Correct me if im wrong, but u have to be a Ripparian shorline owner to license your shoreline or own 800 ft of shoreline, or have a neighbor sign off on your paperwork to license your property.. How many are Ripparian owners ? How many own 800 ft ? How many did DNR license just to keep the public happy because they couldnt handle the complaints from landowners ? Im betting a lot.. The fact of the matter is they will say " we dont have the time or manpower to review each piece of property ", i say BULLSH**.
Just look what has happened up in Chesapeake Beach, which i hardly even hunt, WE have lost all squatter sites execpt i think 1, due to the town licenseing the shoreline ILLEGIEALY... The state still owns 1 foot of shore on the bay and DNR just license the beach for the town anyway to keep the town folk happy.. You guys better hope Mike Miller and Mike Bush dont win election because they are a real big part of the problem...Dont get me wrong , i support the DNR, but dont shake my hand and take my money, then **** on my leg...

sorry if this went a little off topic... bad day at work....

You might as well take the ADC mapbook and wipe your azz with it after your morning coffee cuz after the very people we support, DNR, they have pretty much taking alot of our hunting oppurtunities away with all them orange lines......
