He said earlier he was gonna paint it pink and add strobe lights. Would the pink paint not keep it from retaining water? ;)

i wont go out in high winds, i have a tender boat for that. Its a 1648 MV with a 27hp longtail. I owned the same rig with a 23hp longtail and know the limitations well. This Sea ark is a much better Hull than my last one in terms of ride and stability.
funny you mention the wire cups. The last build i did i went through 2 dozen of these things. Grinding off the old paint. Wearing carhart bibs and looking like a porcupine when then finally give up and start spraying wires everywhere. They do remove a little material from the boat. Between the two choices the scotch brite pad was the pry the better of the two but not by much. Nothing i have found is ideal for this and they all are a pain in some way.

Oh wow... I will caveat by saying I was using a Harbor Freight-type cheap grinder, and it only spun up to about 12K RPM, vice the 20K rated speed. I did have a lot of those things fly out (mine wasn't too bad, or I would have remembered them coming out more than I do). I actually still have the two I went through, they just stopped working well, once they started curving the direction of spin.
