Non resident pheasant hunt license...

    The Iowa DNR website is a bit confusing. Can one of you dumb it down for me. I just need to know the cost of a non resident license just to hunt pheasant for maybe 3 days.

    I looked at the Iowa DNR site and it doesn't look like they offer 3-day licenses, just full season. You must get the hunting license and habitat fee, so $123 for the combo. This was the 2017/2018 pricing.

    Olepal cheaper to come to Kansas, plus we have pheasants.

    Not much cheaper though. $97.50 for a non-resident license.

    But we have pheasants, lots of them.

    Actually the Iowa pheasant population has seen a nice rebound the last couple of years. A buddy of mine is an avid pheasant hunter and he shot 39 roosters this past season, all in Iowa.

    I'm not saying we have more birds, it's just gotten much better of the past couple of years. Also, his were solo hunts, so unless your daily limit 9 birds I doubt that's "a couple of weekends".

    4 day weekend , limit 16 birds
