First hard frost of the year last night. Little if any migration is happening, we have some build up of Widgeon and Goldeneye and Geese are slowly trickling down from James Bay.

Thanks for the info. It use to be that most of the geese we shot came from the bay but any more we don't get many birds come down this far.

Ice this morning in shallow waters, so things are changing. Highs during the day low 50's and this pattern should stay for a while, all weather is stuck from the hurricane on east coast. No new birds in area. Magoo and I gonna try open water rig, see how that works in the next few days.

Clear and cool with no wind this morning. We did see a handful of birds, Woodies and Ringbills, no takers. Clouds have come in, maybe tonight will be better?

Out again today, a few more ducks, but none eager to venture over. Flock of teal, wood ducks, and handful of ringbills. A flock of 8 red head mergansers dropped right in, lucky they taste like fish or they would be on the strap. Sunny and 55 for today, maybe a change by mid week, migration from north should start anytime?

Weather has cooled slightly but not enough to improve bird numbers much, but some Goldeneye are starting to build up in the nearby lakes. As a result, decoying is poor and birds are shot jump shooting beaver ponds, creeks and such. Focus on Moose season starting tomorrow

Strong south winds all day put birds down. We spent some time walking a river bed, jumped up 2 good bunches of Goldeneye, a few Blacks and Buffleheads. Most were out of range, but we did manage 2 Buffleheads and 2 Grouse in our walk. Weather is suppose to stay warm through Tuesday

Warm weather has been replaced by strong north winds and temperatures in the low 40's. A few geese went south and maybe overnight we shall see some migration from the north, time will tell?

First snow of the year as well as sheet ice on many small ponds has come. Few divers have showed up, Goldeneye numbers are growing slowly. Weather is suppose to warm to maybe 55 for the next few days. Hunting is slow
