The only time I've hunted a winter wheat field was when the snow geese went in and were pulling the plants out and the farmer actually called me and asked me to try to keep them out of his fields. He had bangers set up, but they were ignoring them. I walked out (absolutely no driving on the crop) with a bag of silos and sat out 1/2 a day banging snows. When it is this wet, I always ask the farmer if I can take a quad out, and never even consider the truck, as it really makes a lot more work for the farmer in the spring.

While I understand the no driving on the crop if it's wet, I don't get the farmers that have 25-50K snow geese rooting through their green wheat but won't let a truck and trailer make a single pass in and out to set up a large spread and get them out. We drive on our wheat 10-15 times per year when we hunt and come harvest you would have no idea where we drove.
