Anyone been there?
Please post all your waterfowl findings along the Po river with GPS coordinates, buddies of mine.
You will find the waterfowl hunting along that river to be...well..."Po".
Looks as if though the only way you can access it is through the quota hunt system. 2900 acres is a lot of room for 20 guys.
Oakley Forest WMA – Series #305
Hunt any game species in season on the Oakley Forest WMA in Spotsylvania County. Ten hunters will be randomly selected for each set of hunt days and selected hunters may bring one guest. Applicants who do not receive their preferred hunt dates will be assigned random hunt dates. Hunter quota restrictions do not apply on open hunting season dates other than those listed below. A special 4-pt. antler rule is posted and applies during all open deer seasons.
Hunt dates: November 3-7 (no Sunday Hunting), 8-10, 12-14, 15-17, 19-21, 22-24, 26-28, Nov. 29 -Dec. 1, 3-5, 6-8, 10-12, 13- 15, 17-19, 20-22, 24-26, 27-29 and Dec. 31 – Jan. 2, 3-5

Looking at the map, the open roads are concentrated in one area. VGIF, thanks for a big nothing.
Here is the link to hunting specific to Oakley Forest. At the bottom of the pdf it states-
"Properly licensed individuals may hunt, fish, and trap. No additional permit is required to hunt, fish, and trap on this WMA."
So I guess a phone call is in order to figure out what the deal is with hunting there.
A bit confusing. I looked at the VGIF Quota Hunts, what's new like you posted.
Good. Let people that are willing to walk a little have something. It would be awesome if they could keep it in good condition.
