I would encourage the women on this site to consider fly fishing in the off season from hunting--the best fly tyers have always been women--probably because of their patience and dexterity--plus, the art of casting, presenting the fly to the fish, and the peace and serenity of fly fishing should appeal to many of you. I personally practice only catch and release and always fish with barbless hooks--fly fishing is becomming more and more popular with women--in fact, here in the State of Washington there is a major organization of women flyfishers. This could be a topic that you are looking for.

I have always wanted to learn to flyfish but have never gotten around to doing it. I hear that women are better flyfishers than men, something to do with not being afraid of a limp wrist. hehehe ;)

I taught flyfishing classes for a local Fly Shop a few years ago.
Yep, the ladies do, for the most part, catch on quicker. All you had to do was convince them that casting was "like writing a beautiful symphony in the air".
    You shoulda seen them go!!!
