Well I got a ticket for running a red light in the Brunswick area from a GA state trooper.

My side: it was still yellow when I passed the line and I was not going to slam on the brakes as my wife was asleep in the back seat of the van. This would have thrown her on the floor.

His side: I ran a red light.

So I called the courthouse and found out I can plead not guilty via mail to save a trip as the first court date is an arrainment. I would them receive another court date for the trial.

My question is how do I obtain whatever evidence the trooper may have that I ran the red light?

I did not see anyone else in his car as a witness.

I don't know if he taped it.

I did not tell him about my wife on the back seat, because I figured he would get me for that too.

Not for three to five years.

Besides, I am not paying for something I did not do.

No matter, you will probably still lose the case. The judges will not side against the trooper on a case in which it is his word against yours. Now, if you were to present a witness ( other than spouse) you might get away with a warning, but the judges know who butters their biscuit

Go to court and he may not show up. That is about the only way to get out of it (maybe).

When did you notice it was yellow? Reason I ask I got a ticket many years ago for the same thing. Had to pay it.

I know of the Judge. ( I do not know him other than seeing him in action ) Orian Douglas biggest crook on the planet!! Best if you pay the fine and chalk it up to not being caught doing some other violation!! He has never sided with the people NEVER!! always goes with the LAW MAN! Rumor has it he has a bad Sniffing problem!! And he don't like to upset the law man!! He could not make it as a Lawyer!!

Pay it. No way you're going to win unless the copper doesn't show up.
