I had never weighed any geese before this thread got me thinking. We get very few small geese, mainly giants and the biggest one we got this year went just a hair under 15 (on a hanging spring scale). I am sure there are bigger but I doubt there are very many.

:sp If it even matters at this point, back in 2001 i shot a giant that weighed a little over19lbs.Should have got him mounted but i didnt.Been kicking myself since then.We weighed me on a scale added the goose and subtracted.Wingspan was over 6 feet.Corn fed or inbred it didnt matter to me he was huge.Ive got video tape somewhere of it on the scales and it shows the difference in weights between it and me :tu Ill try to find it and post some stills

I mainly hunt resident gaints and we shot two between 15 and 16 pounds this year. Only twice in almost 50 years have I seen any bigger. 18 pounds would be a monster. I couldn't give it away it would go on the wall!! Bruce :tu
