Put boat in the water and idled for a couple of miles. Pulled the boat out and oilly water was oozing out of a hole in the lower unit. What is this. The hole is just back of the water intake holes just above the prop hub.

I owned a 2001 Johnson OceanPro for 16 years that oozed an alarming amount of oily drippage onto my driveway after many outings. Oozing was especially bad after trips involving extended hours of trolling at idle speed. I worried about this for many years until (upon advice from my most trusted outboard mechanic) I concluded this is a normal and harmless condition for many 2 strokes. Also discussions on boating forums supported this conclusion. PM me if you want me to find the forum threads.

Force motors were carbureted mostly and you pre mix the gas. At idle the mix is probably overly rich and too rich for all the fuel and oil to burn completly.

That 50-1 mix is to keep things slippery at WOT. I'm guessing that oil injection motors lean the mix out considerably at an idle.

2 stroke, I wouldn't worry about it. It just means that the oil in the gas is going thru the engine and out the exhaust, lubricating everything in between, I would NOT reduce the factory stated oil/ gas mixture at all. Ever.

I think every Force motor I've seen is just a re-badged Merc.
