Irving, will you share how long you have been building boats and how you started in the fishing/building industry? You craft beautiful boats. I enjoyed that article several years ago in Marlin Magazine about that 46' build.
I can't imagine what it is like to build something as beautiful and functional as that boat, look at it in the water and say to yourself....." I built that" .
He's a hands on boat builder too. Not a guy that sets in a office tells other people do this and that, he's one of the ones actually building it.
Thanks for the compliment. I started in 1974 with Buddy Davis at Davis Boat Works in Wanchese. From there I started building for myself in Capt. Warren O'Neals boat shop in Manteo and moved to the old Buddy Davis shop in Wanchese when he vacated to start Davis Yachts. I left building for myself and started with Spencer Yachts as they were starting up. Stayed there 13 years and left to start building for myself again. There you have it. It's been a pretty good trip!
That is pretty sweet.
