Not so fast. 104 mallards taken this morning on the river by some first nations friends of mine. They are still around up here, and now the marshes are tightening up, and the birds are finally moving to the fields and the river. Should be some good shooting this weekend, with temps way above normal. Temp in Winnipeg this weekend should be in the high 40s or low 50's.

    No migration this weekend.

Gradually seeing more ducks here in TN. Noticed our low tomorrow is going to be the same as the low for Bismark, ND. Go figure!

It will be warmer tomorrow in parts of Manitoba than it will be in parts a lot of western-central USA. My neck of the woods is a nice dark blue, way up in Northern Manitoba, and warmer than most of ND and most of SD.

It's a strange start to winter up here.

Got up this morning and temp was 37F. Should be 41 this afternoon. Normal for this time of year is below freezing, at 29F. Winnipeg net difference is even higher. Some of the marshes and ponds opened up over the weekend. Still some geese and ducks around. Not a lot, but nothing to force them to move. Zero hunters, open water and easy access to food will delay final migration of these birds from northern MB.
