We were in a leased pasture field that has some water in it set up for mallards and geese, behind the field is a nice stream with some wide spots. We shot a couple ducks and 3 Honks when a real nice hooded merganser drake pitches into the stream. My son saw it and said it would be nice on the wall so be jumped it and shot it and will take it to the taxidermist next week.First one I have ever seen bagged here, with honkers, mallards and 1 pintail.Strange bag.

They do make for a striking mount. I have one in a standing position with a habitat base. Punk Rock Duck.

I have one mounted like also. I have Cans, Mexican Tree Ducks, Eiders, and Harlequins, Barrows Golden Eyes....and that merganser gets more looks than anything else. :nutz
