Just wanted to see how are friends from the North and how the early friends from the states did on opening day.

We are heading out on the 21st of September for our first hunt in the promise land, and will do it again for our late hunt in October, this will be year 20 freelancing in Saskatchewan. Looking forward to seeing old friends and chasing some birds with them and helping with the harvest if needed. The 1450 miles each way is always a joy but someone has to do it.

Looks like the gas prices will be interesting, might need to bring a little extra money.

Good luck, this year marks 25 for us and North D.
Hit Saskatchewan 1 year the week before Noth Dakota, for Green heads, and it turned it a unbelievable snow hunt. Definitely will go back, about 1300 miles one way for us.

Just trying to help another hunter. Also, I don't worry about it too much, Canada is a big country. I will just find another spot.

Devils Lake, ND used to be a freelancing paradise 20 years ago. Now you could not get on land withing 20 miles of the lake to save your life. The outfitters control all the land or it was bought or leased by mostly out of state people. I hear Southern Canada is already becoming much more crowded than it ever used to be.
