    Butchered.
If you are interested in finding another Baikal down the road, I have connections for birds for a lot less. I will point you in the right direction. A dead Baikal should be about $200-$250 max!

This is a bummer. I got to see in person a baikal teal done by a Pat Bradburn(nwwings). They are amazing birds. Check out his website for what a good baikal should look like.

That is one sorry looking duck! But it looks to be similar in quality with the birds I see on his facebook page.

If everything you say is true and the birds in the shop don't all look like the ones on his facebook page, you have been swindled.

I got bit by a taxidermist on a deer for my wife a few years ago same kind of deal. The work in his house might of been his work but was not the quality of work he turned out for customers.

A deer head can easily be remounted if you ever had the extra coin and desire, birds can be remounted under certain circumstances but its a gamble and the odds ain't in your favor.

No way in heck does sponsorship here or anywhere else indicate quality. I've seen plenty of crappy birds posted up that were done by forum "sponsors". It's a tough lesson to learn, especially with a rare bird.
