My responsibilities for Thanksgiving Dinner are the same each year... Oysters on the half shell... that means that I purchase a bushel of oysters and spend time shucking them for the family... I love doing it!

Last year, Oyster were astronomically expensive for Thanksgiving... anyone have any idea what a basket of oysters ( local eastern shore) is going for these days?

    Thanks in advance

Most of the oystermen from over here are over there working on the Rappahannock. There's some real good cultivated oysters coming from the VA beach area

Bad news for you Slack.. They'll be more expensive this year. Many reasons...Gulf not producing what it once did, Galveston bay wiped out by freshwater and oysters have become chic with slackers, mellenials and hipsters, etc.
