Like the title says. How often are you guys having to pay for permission now to get on a feed ?

Had this happen to me today for the first time. Kind of took me by surprise to be honest with you. Especially since there are no on the move guide services here in So IL. I obviously did not pay, since it was a small feed and was going to be a 3 hour evening hunt.

Just curious on what everyone else has to do to get permission.

Have paid for season or for couple weeks for right traffic spot. Only paid once to hunt field for one hunt.

We own our spot and focus all our attention on it now for white birds. Chasing fields and access from landowners is almost completely behind us at this point. Just concentrate on making our spot as good as it can be!!!!!

    Good Luck

I pay to have a permanent spot and believe it is well worth it. I have never paid chasing the X. But if the farmer asked; would I? If I thought it was the right situation...absolutely!

I'm torn on leasing. On one hand it's a slippery slope that eventually reduces access to other hunters. On the other hand, I get really tired of being turned down for permission and I would love to have my own spot where I know I could go to hunt. I'm 10-15 years away from being able to buy a spot like that though.

Y'all don't move down south, you'd sell all your gear and take up golf. Not paying is the exception and its all about who you know, ie family friends, etc. A guy off the street talking to a farmer has just about 0 chance.

Never have, hopefully never will. Have had a few farmers ask for money and told them No thanks and found another field.
