Ok, Here's the official start to the photo Assignment. The topic is: COLD

-Everyone has 2 Weeks to enter their photos (closing date is: 01/30/07)
-After the close we will take 1 Week to vote (winner declaired on 02/06/07)
-Each participant can post up to 2 photos per assignment
-Participants must post new photos taken specifically for the assignment
    -winner selects the next topic
-Since this is an excellent opprotunity, post the shot details with your photo if possible (ISO, Shutter speed, Aperature value, Lens size, etc. This will give others the chance to emulate your photo to further learn.
-Only submitions should be posted in the "sticky" comments etc. should be posted in a separate thread.
-The technical details will be discussed concerning the "winning" photo for a further learning opprotunity.
-finally... Have a great time! If I forgot anything, let me know and I'll edit this post to reflect it...

I'm not sure if I saw it on this forum, or another photgraphy forum, but a great way to see the specs on images is this program:

    http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/index.html

It's easy to use and free. I have already noticed that I am taking more interest in my settings since I started using it. It's easy to just start clicking away and not pay attention fo changes you should/could make.

You end up getting something like this:

    Make = Canon
Model = Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
    Orientation = top/left
    Date Time = 2007-01-15 20:50:54

    [Camera]
    Exposure Time = 1/20"
    F Number = F5.6
    Exposure Program = Normal program
    ISO Speed Ratings = 1600
    Exif Version = Version 2.21
    Date Time Original = 2007-01-15 20:50:54
    Date Time Digitized = 2007-01-15 20:50:54
Shutter Speed Value = 4.32 TV
    Aperture Value = 4.97 AV
    Exposure Bias Value = ?0EV
    Metering Mode = Pattern
Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
    Focal Length = 55mm
    Maker Note = 4876 Byte
    User Comment =
    Flashpix Version = Version 1.0
    Color Space = sRGB
    Exif Image Width = 3888
    Exif Image Height = 2592
    Custom Rendered = Normal process
    Exposure Mode = Auto exposure
White Balance = Auto white balance
    Scene Capture Type = Normal

Just thought I would throw that out there for anyone that missed the thread or needed the program.

I can't take credit for this one, but I think it kind of captures the "cold" theme. :yes :yes :yes

It was taken in Western Kansas supposedly within the last couple of days. I don't know who the photographer was, just came across it on the net.

Mad Duck I think we are getting our cold weather. We are going to have to think outside the box to show "cold" since we don't have ice and snow that stays on the ground. Let the games begin!:)
